A staff attorney will assist trial court judges in the Fourth Judicial Circuit with legal issues that require research and analysis, 出席法庭诉讼, 建议法官, and drafting memoranda and court orders. Staff attorneys primarily work on felony cases, including capital and non-capital criminal matters with a focus on postconviction motions. Staff attorneys will also work on civil, family, and probate matters.

To qualify for a Senior Trial Court Staff Attorney, one also must have five (5) years of work experience in the practice of law or as a law clerk in an appellate or trial court.
